coming from a lab, No LC. has issues please read below:
The Shimadzu 8040 was actively used from 2014 to 2018, but issues with the reproducibility of quantitative measurements began to arise. Repeated measurements of identical samples produced peak areas with unacceptable deviations. The upstream HPLC system was ruled out as the source of the problem.
Shimadzu customer service and technicians sequentially replaced several critical components of the 8040 but were unable to identify the root cause of the issue. Consequently, the lab decided to decommission the instrument in 2019. However, the components replaced during these extensive repairs—such as the detector, rotor, check valve, and desolvation line assembly are practically unused and in near-new condition.
Since its decommissioning in 2019, the entire system has been stored.
