The Axima Performance MALDI-TOF mass spectrometer was originally installed in laboratory in 2014.
Currently, the instrument is experiencing technical issues related to the laser – it occasionally fails to trigger or delivers unstable energy output. In addition, there may be a vacuum pump problem, as the system tends to stop during startup or midway through the evacuation process.
Apart from these issues, the main chassis, ion optics, and electronics appear to be intact, and the software and PC system are still available. The instrument has been stored in a controlled environment since deactivation.
